Aceituna bag is handmade by local artisans in Andalusia, Spain.
This little bag was used by our grandfather in the past to carry worms to the river and then use them for fishing.
It is made of esparto grass, a filiform wild fibre that is collected by hand in the field and moistened and left to dry in the sun. Once browned, it is pounded with a round mallet to soften it and make it easier to work with. Finally, it is braided using the traditional technique of 'hacer pleita' and sewn with rope, giving it the desired shape. Each piece is unique and inimitable.
